Are you currently serving in the Military or ex-military and looking at your future options?
At Lincoln College we understand the great impact that your knowledge, skills and experience can have on our Students. Our organisation has signed the Armed Forces Covenant and are committed to helping Forces personnel to resettle into Lincoln and within new Careers.
We are currently offering work placements within our Engineering and Computing curriculum areas. If you aren’t sure about what your next steps are, or want to get a flavour of what working within the FE Sector is like, then a work placement could be the right path for you! Our Work Placements will be unpaid for two weeks, although we are happy to work around your flexibility. We are also happy to look at work placements within other curriculum areas, so please still contact us, if you want more information but specialise in other areas. If you are currently in the process of leaving the military (2 years pre-discharge) you can complete the Work Placement as a Civilian Work Attachment or Trial Attachment, and therefore can still be paid by the military.
Ross Tarnowski, Lead in Mechanical Engineering and Air & Defence Career College has worked at Lincoln College since October 2018 and came to us from 22 years’ service in the Royal Air Force, most recently as an Aircraft Engineering Manager. Ross started as a Lecturer within our organisation and has recently been promoted to a Lead post and been a mentor for other ex-military recruits, advising them of the support Lincoln College can provide in their transfer from Military to FE – including guidance and support to help them achieve their level 4 teaching qualification.
