Working 18.5 hours per week, we are seeking to recruit an imaginative, well organised and effective Lecturer to teach students between 16 to 25 years old across four sites. The successful candidate will show enthusiasm, have good communication and interpersonal skills, and ideally have knowledge of learning, teaching and assessment processes used within Awarding Organisations. Experience of teaching learners of differing difficulties/disabilities and and/or emotional/behavioural issues from Entry Level 1 - Level 2 is desirable. You will need to support students in a flexible environment to prepare them for mainstream programmes or employment, and have the skills to instruct and assess students in practical and theoretical activities, including maths, English & personal development skills.
The ability to make pro-active contributions to the development of this key curriculum area is also desirable. You will also need to be willing to take on the role of personal tutor for a specific group of learners. It would be beneficial if the candidate could offer a vocational specialism too.
Applicants must hold or be willing to work towards Certificate in Education, PGCE or equivalent, or the ability and willingness to obtain a level 4 professional teaching qualification within 1 year of commencing employment (2 years for fractional posts).
