You will provide an assessment service to all students, ensuring that they are provided with support and reasonable adjustments in line with the requirements of the Equality Act. You will liaise with internal and external professionals in order to obtain supporting information to effectively support the needs of learners.
You will manage a caseload of assessments ensuring service level standards are met whilst undertaking risk assessments where necessary in partnership with academic staff. You will provide appropriate assessment of a range of learning, attainment and social skills (e.g. literacy, numeracy, specific learning difficulty, learning styles) for College students, and to disseminate assessment/support plans to relevant staff in a timely and responsive manner.
The ideal candidate will possess an NVQ Level 4 in Advice and Guidance or specialist SEND related qualification e.g. Visual Impairment, Hearing Impairment, Autism etc. and have a Level 2 IT Qualification or equivalent skills. In addition, you will have recent relevant experience of working with and meeting the needs of people aged 16+ with learning difficulties and/or disabilities in an educational setting.
